Introduction to health services management

(MED)

6 points + 4 hours per week contact + 8 hours private study + First Semester + Prerequisites: Completion of Years 1, 2 and 3 of the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics or its equivalent

Synopsis: The subject introduces students to the management of health care services. It examines the role of managerial interventions to achieve population health, and examines the forces guiding the management and change in health care systems. Students will examine a managerial tool or a specific managerial approach in depth, and will understand the differences between management and leadership.

Assessment: Essay: 40% + Group presentation: 30% + Assignment on group presentation: 30%
