Synopsis: A comprehensive overview of the concepts and the interrelationships between email, EDI, EFT, bar-coding, electronic catalogues, smart cards, CALS and other associated electronic processes and systems. International standards, ethics, privacy, legal and security issues and impact on the workplace. The place of electronic commerce in the development of communications and business communications.

Assessment: Assignment 1 (case study - 2000 words): 20% + Assignment 2 (research essay - 2500 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
