Gillian Bowen and Colin Hope 6 points + 3 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton Synopsis: An overview of the cultures of the Mediterranean from the end of the Bronze Age to the triumph of Christianity. The major focus is upon the classical cultures: Greece and Macedon, Hellenism and Rome; also surveyed are Egypt, Israel, Iraq and Persia, the impact of the Bible and Christianity. Themes and source material as ARY1010. Assessment: Map assignment: 10% + Two tutorial essays (1000 and 1500 words respectively): 50% + Examination (2 hours): 40% |
