APA4507Casting of small-scale objects and jewellery 2G(A&D)
3 points + Second semester + Caulfield + 2 taught studio hours and 4 independent study hours per week + Prerequisites: APA4506 Synopsis: This course is studio based and, following on from the prerequisite subject, explores and extends the specific processes involved with small scale casting in metal, including lost-wax and cuttlebone or sand casting. Formal lectures, practical work and research enable students to explore the possibilities of lost wax casting and where it may be appropriately used to extend the creative possibility of their own work.
