AIS4020Australian Indigenous culture and history(ART)
Liz Reed and Lynette Russell 12 points + 2-3 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton + Prohibitions: KRS4020 (2000 and previously) Synopsis: The historical and anthropological comparative discourses of Aboriginal cultures prior to colonisation. The theoretical and institutional settings and practices which have impacted on Aboriginal communities and the ways in which these communities have responded. Interdisciplinary approaches to this unit are emphasised, as well as theoretical considerations of colonialism and struggles against this. Assessment: Seminar presentation (3000 words): 30% + Methodology paper - special subject (6000 words): 70% |
