AIS2809Tourism and Indigenous Australia(ART)
Isabel Ellender 6 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Gippsland and OCDL + Prohibition: AIS3809; GSC3802 (2000 and previously) + Recommended: an Indigenous Studies unit or equivalent Synopsis: This unit provides students with an opportunity to investigate and examine the contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to the tourism industry in Australia. Case studies will provide the framework to study the various tourist attractions and management arrangements; particularly the level and nature of involvement of Indigenous Australians.A one day field excursion will be part of this unit. Assessment: Major Case study/project (2000 words): 50% + Examination (2 hours): 40% + Draft proposal for major project (500 words): 10% |
