Mr Paul de Lange 6 points + Peninsula + First semester + Equivalent of 156 hours including a 5-day camp, 58 hours research prior to camp and 56 hours research after camp Synopsis: This subject is designed to give students the ability to use financial information in managing a wine, food or beverage enterprise. Topics covered include: cash flow analysis, using financial information for investment decision making, understanding and interpreting financial statements, measures of profitability and financial stability, cost behaviour and cost volume relationships, budgeting and business planning and control and accounting for management operations. Assessment: Class presentation: 20% + Major assignment (3000 words): 30% + Final examination (3 hours): 50% |
