AFW2061Financial decision making for viticulture and wine production(BUS)
Dr Paul de Lange 6 points + First semester + Peninsula, OCDL + Pre/corequisites: ASC1717 and ASC1726 (or recognised industry experience) + Prohibition: AFX1110 Synopsis: This unit is designed to give students the ability to use financial information in viticulture and wine production. It builds on the student's knowledge of the science and technology of grape and wine production provided in the prerequisite applied science units. Topics covered include: cash flow analysis, using financial information for investment decision making, understanding and interpreting financial statements, measures of profitability and financial stability, cost behaviour and cost volume relationships, budgeting and business planning and control and accounting for management operations. Assessment: Four minor assignments: 20% + Major assignment: 20% + Final examination: 60% |
