Course code 2005 + Gippsland campus or OCDL
The Bachelor of Science course normally requires three years full-time study or the equivalent in part-time on-campus or OCDL study (usually about six years).
Two associated tagged BSc degrees, detailed separately, have particular career focuses in areas of strength in the School of Applied Sciences. The BSc course allows students to construct their own study program within a flexible degree structure.

Course requirements

Students commencing the BSc course should refer to the course requirements listed under the 'Bachelor of Science' entry at the Clayton campus. Students who commenced in 1998 should refer to the 1998 Science handbook for details of course requirements.
Science sequences (major or minor) are offered in the following fields of study:

• Applied biology (biochemistry, microbiology and industrial and medical applications)
• Applied chemistry
• Resource and environmental management
• Mathematics and modelling
• Applied statistics (minor only)
• Human physiology (minor only)
• Psychology
• Computing

The following units are available for meeting the first-level PLE requirement:

• Physical processes: CHM1616, PHS1617
• Life processes: BIO1626, BIO1637, PSY1011, PSY1022
• Earth processes: ENV1616
