This
course, offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine,
updates health workers and regulators involved in risk management and
communication with the necessary skills and their application to current health
issues. The course is completed in one year part-time. It is not offered on a
full-time basis. The degree covers the basic knowledge and competence is
assessing and managing public health risks skills essential to the process of
decision making and guiding public health policy.
Applicants must have a medical degree, a bachelors degree with honours or
graduate diploma, or a three-year bachelors degree with at least two years
relevant professional experience in a health-related field. The department will
individually assess applications from students without a three-year degree but
with extensive relevant professional experience.
This course is comprised of four core units.
Assessment includes written assignments, oral presentations and examinations.
