Master of Marketing (Logistics Management)


General information

Course code: 1141 + Course abbreviation: MMktg(LogMgt) + Course director: Mr G Peter Dapiran + Units are offered in a five-day block mode at Peninsula campus (other units may be taken at other campuses with the approval of the course director) + Normally completed in three semesters of full-time study or six semesters of part-time study
This course provides an understanding of what it means to manage the business supply chain using the conceptual framework of integrated logistics management. It further aims to impart the skills, concepts and tools to manage logistics functional areas.
The course has been designed to provide students with an intellectually demanding and advanced understanding of logistics management concepts and to allow them to integrate the work of their previous logistics studies through course work and a substantial company-focused project.
Applicants need to have completed, with an average grade of credit or above, the Executive Certificate in Logistics Management; the Graduate Diploma in Logistics Management, an honours degree in the discipline, or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. No credit for work done previously is available in this degree.
This is a full-fee-paying course. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change. Applicants should consult the Department of Marketing as to the 2002 course fee.
Computer literacy and access to the internet are highly desirable to gain access to and advantage from the university administrative processes, online library services, online units and to communicate with academic and administrative staff. The university provides access to computer labs on each campus although part-time students may find it more convenient to use their own or their employer's computer facilities. Applicants planning to use employer's computer facilities should gain permission prior to admission.

Course structure

Units in this degree are arranged in three four-unit modules. An exit point allows students unable to complete all 12 units to exit the course at the end of modules 1 and 2 and receive the Graduate Diploma in Logistics Management.
