Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Gerontics)


Course code: 1754 + Offered by the School of Nursing, Gippsland campus (off-campus distributed learning) and Peninsula campus (mixed mode) + Full-fee paying course: $8400 (Australian residents + Course coordinators: Ailsa Rickards (Gippsland) and Joan Yalden (Peninsula)

Aims

This course is offered part-time via off-campus distributed learning or by mixed mode over two years. The mixed-mode course includes the combination of off-campus distributed learning study materials, on-campus seminars and clinical fieldwork. The course structure consists of three core units and five specialist units in gerontics.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission, an applicant would normally have relevant registration (eg Division 1 with the Nurses Board of Victoria), have at least one year of nursing experience, and have a degree in nursing or related discipline. Experience in the relevant area of practice is desirable.

At Peninsula, there will be a series of seminars on campus throughout the semester to support study materials and clinical fieldwork.
