Graduate Certificate in Exercise Medicine


Course code: 2871 + Institute of Reproduction and Development, Monash Medical Centre, Clayton + Full-fee-paying course: $5200 (Australian residents); $7760 (international students) + No attendance is required

Aims

The course is designed to provide training in the health benefits and risks of exercise for all sectors of the population. The course meets the educational needs of many groups of professional people who are in a position to prescribe scientifically validated exercise techniques for health benefit across the community. These include general practitioners, nurses, occupational therapists, exercise scientists, physical education teachers, professional physical training instructors, and community health care professionals.

Entry requirements

Entry will be open to graduates with a relevant pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.

Course structure

The course is conducted entirely via off-campus distributed learning over one or two years part-time or six months full-time.

Major studies

Assessment

Assessment consists of journal submission, discussion papers and assessable questions.
