The
Diploma of Wine Technology and Marketing provides an opportunity to join the
wine industry, one of the fastest growing industries in Australia.
The course uses an integrated approach to cover all the many facets involved in
the wine business enterprises, from the production of grapes and winemaking to
wine marketing and distribution in Australia and the rapidly growing export
market. It combines the technical and business aspects of viticulture and
winemaking, drawing on Monash's recognised strengths in accounting and finance,
management, marketing and viticulture.
The Diploma of Wine Technology and Marketing is compatible with degree courses
such as engineering, science, agriculture, education, tourism, hospitality,
marketing, accounting and international trade.
Entry is open to students who have enrolled in an undergraduate degree at any university.
Students
study a total of eight six-point units for the diploma in parallel with a 24
six-point unit bachelors degree, resulting in a double award. Up to four units
can be cross-credited.
Students undertake four wine science and viticulture units and four business
units covering marketing (two subjects), accounting and finance, and
management.
All units are offered by flexible delivery and part-time mode, and each unit
will have a compulsory residential block of three to five days
