The Bachelor of Multimedia Computing prepares students for professional careers in information technology with a strong focus in multimedia technologies and their applications. Students will acquire a sound understanding of the principles and uses of multimedia technology, in stand-alone and distributed environments, as well as significant programming competencies. The first level of the course develops a foundation of understanding and context, the second and third levels develop theoretical and applied concepts and the multimedia computing project at third level brings these understandings together, while students are consolidating and extending their personal and professional interests in the third-level electives.
Applicants wishing to apply for entry to the Bachelor of Multimedia Computing at Berwick or by distance education must have satisfactorily completed VCE mathematics and English in units 3 and 4 with a study score of at least 20, or equivalent. Distance education applicants who do not satisfy these requirements may qualify for mature-age admission on the basis of other qualifications and work experience relevant to the degree. Offers for distance education study will be made on an individual basis.
Three years of full-time study or six years of part-time study.
Domestic students -- HECS band 2. International students -- $15,500 per year (48 points). Domestic full-fee-paying students -- $14,250 per year (48 points).
Credit for previous study may be granted for the course. Credit will be assessed on an individual basis.
