The following should be read in conjunction with the degree regulations of the
Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Economics. The double-degree course of
Bachelor of Arts /Bachelor of Economics requires a minimum of four years of
full-time study, or five years for a degree with honours, or the equivalent in
part-time study. Students must complete subjects to the value of a minimum of
192 credit points subject to the following conditions.
(a) 96 points (16 subjects) must be chosen from subjects offered by the
Faculty of Business and Economics (Clayton) and must include:
(i) Completion of the following compulsory subjects:
(ii) Completion of two additional second-year-level
and three third-year-level subjects drawn from one of the departments of
Economics (Clayton) or Econometrics and Business Statistics (Clayton).
(iii) A maximum of eight first-year-level subjects (48 credit points). In
order to meet this requirement, students are able to undertake the second year
versions of the appropriate number of compulsory subjects
(b) 96 points (16 subjects) must be chosen from the Faculty of Arts, of
which at least 24 points must be at third-year level, and which must include
one major sequence (48 points), one minor sequence (24 points) and a third
first-year sequence from subjects offered in the Bachelor of Arts degree.
(c) Overall, a maximum of 84 points (14 subjects) of first-year-level
subjects.
Students must have their program of study approved by the course coordinator or
the course coordinator's nominee prior to commencement of the relevant year.
