Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Information Management and Systems
Course
code: 2913
The four-year double degree of Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Information
Management and Systems aims to jointly produce graduates who are able to pursue
further formal learning and to apply their understanding wherever in the world
they choose to work or study and who possess generalised, adaptable
communications, information management and IT skills. Students undertake a
major sequence, a minor sequence, a first-year sequence in an arts discipline
and a further 12 points in arts subjects while also completing the requirements
of the Bachelor of Information Management and Systems degree.
This
component of the course requires the completion of 96 credit points of subjects
made up of the following:
- arts discipline major (48 points)
- arts discipline minor (24 points)
- compulsory arts discipline first-year sequence (12 points)
- a further 12 points of arts subjects (12 points)
A
year-by-year student progression through the course follows:
- First-year sequence in an arts discipline (discipline A)
- First-year sequence in an arts discipline (discipline C)
- Second-year studies in an arts discipline (discipline A)
- First-year sequence in an arts discipline (discipline B)
- Third-year studies in an arts discipline (discipline A)
- Second-year studies in an arts discipline (discipline B)
- Third-year studies in an arts discipline (discipline A)
- Twelve points of arts subjects (subject to final approval -- not
applicable to students commencing pre-2001)
This
component of the course requires the completion of 102 points. A year-by-year
student progression through the course follows:
- IMS3 Information management and systems elective 1 in area of
specialisation
- IMS3 Information management and systems elective 2 in area of
specialisation
- IMS3 Information management and systems elective 3 in area of
specialisation
- IMS3000 Studio
