Dr Ian Coupar and Dr Karen Kerr 73 lectures, 10 tutorials and 51 hours of practical work Synopsis: Pharmacology of neuroeffector systems. Autacoids. Drug-receptor interaction. Cardiovascular pathophysiology and pharmacology. Renal physiology and pharmacology. The central nervous system. Practical classes provide experience through in vivo and in vitro experiments, seminars and discussion groups. Assessment: Mid-year examination (June) (1.5 hours): 35% + Practical work: 15% + End-of-year examination (2 hours): 50% |
