3 points + One 1 hour lecture, one 1 hour studio and 4 independent study hours per week + First semester + Caulfield + Prerequisites: VCO1301

Synopsis: Theoretical and practical exercises in relationships between type and meaning, and type and language. Conceptual development and a willingness to approach typography perceptively and with curiosity is emphasised. The skills and knowledge acquired form a solid basis to support the major area of graphic design.

Assessment: Major projects: 80% + Minor projects: 20%
