Synopsis: A reading course on aspects of contemporary film theory, especially the debates around postmodernism as they relate to film. Studies also include discourse theory, structuralism and poststructuralism, theories of ideology and phenomenology. Other debates include narratology and discourse theory as they pertain to film and television.

Assessment: Essay (2500 words): 25% + Essay (3000 words): 35% + Essay (3500 words): 40%
