TAD2401Perception, imagination and judgement 2A(A&D) Not offered in 2002 6 points + One 2 hour lecture, one 1 hour tutorial and 9 independent study hours per week + First semester + Caulfield + Prerequisites: TAD1101, TAD1102 + Prohibitions: TAD2411, TAD3401, TAD3411 Synopsis: Visual perception including colour vision, the perception of space and depth and the application of these in art and design. Common visual deficiencies and their consequences. Origins of mental imagery and the role of imagination in the mental life of individuals. The formation of symbols and the functioning of visual symbols in society and culture. The formation of aesthetic judgement and the factors influencing such judgement in the individual and society.
