Synopsis: Areas related to the ways in which knowledge is developed. Philosophical issues including the relationship between values, theory, ideology and knowledge. The nature of social work /knowing0, especially the adequacy of the view about knowledge held in the social work literature.

Assessment: Class presentation (3500 words): 25% + Written assignment (5500 words): 75%
