Advanced Spanish Language and Studies

Synopsis: The class is in Spanish. The emphasis is on advanced spoken and written Spanish and the consolidation of the grammatical structures needed to successfully undertake academic discourse. Teaching material shall focus on the understanding on Hispanic contemporary issues through literary readings, debates, essay writings and translations.

Assessment: Mid-semester test (equivalent 900 words): 15% + Examination (1400 words): 30% + 2 essays (900 words): 30% + Class project (500 words): 15% + 2 listening comprehension tests (equivalent 800 words): 25% + Third-years students will need to show a greater degree of argumentative and theoretical capability in their work.
