SCY1200Introduction to sociology II(ART)
Cathi Lewis 6 points + 3 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton, Caulfield Synopsis: The way sociologists engage in research, including theoretical issues and ethical and political dilemmas as well as research strategies. Two topics will be selected from the following list to illuminate the issues and dilemmas: work; health and illness; popular culture; sex and gender; sport; religion; education; youth; race and ethnicity. These topics will also be used to explore how sociologists understand and engage with important social issues in Australia. Assessment: Three tutorial tests (20 mins each): 30% + Written project report (2000 words): 35% + Examination (1.5 hours): 35% |
