Science in action research project

(SCI)

6 points + First/Second semester, Summer + Approximately 12 hours per week + Clayton, Gippsland, Malaysia, Distance + Prerequisites: 24 points of second level studies with 12 points minimum in the discipline directly relevant to the project. A minimum average of Credit in all subjects. Permission of subject coordinator, project supervisor(s) and relevant Head of Department required + Prohibitions: GAS3062, GAS3619, MAT3199, ASC3639, SCI3739

Synopsis: An individual research project in a discipline relating to a major area of study: ie any discipline not offering a project subject. Includes literature review, experimental design and data analysis, seminar attendance. Student must maintain regular contact with supervisor(s).

Assessment: Three oral reports (preliminary, 10 minutes; progress, 10 minutes; final poster session): 20% + Written reports (preliminary, 1500 words, 10%; final, 8,000 words, 45%): 55% + Supervisor's assessment of project planning, conduct and development: 25%
