RLM4070Buddhism: society and politics(ART) Proposed to be offered next in 2002 Ian Mabbett with Padmasiri De Silva 12 points + Second semester + Clayton Synopsis: This subject will focus on the ethical and social doctrines in early Buddhist texts, and their implications for questions of politics, and, adopting an interdisciplinary approach, explore a number of philosophical and political issues, including human relationships, women and family, race, caste and identity, and equality, freedom and human rights.
