PHY4000Physiology honours(SCI)
Associate Professor Igor Wendt and Dr Richard Lang 48 points + Full-year + Clayton + Prerequisite: Satisfaction of the Faculty of Science eligibility requirements for BSc (Honours) Synopsis: The Honours year aims to develop analytic abilities and research skills. Training is in the context of a scientific project, with an aim to also develop broad generic skills. Students undertake a research project forming the basis of a thesis presented at the end of the year and involving research of a publishable standard. They present seminars on their research, and are also trained in advanced scientific techniques, critical reading of scientific literature, scientific communication skills, and the use of statistical tools for analysis. Further, core and optional lectures/tutorials on advanced aspects of physiology and other training areas provide a means to broaden their skills. Assessment: Research thesis, thesis interview, seminars and literature review: 80% + Written examinations: 15% + Essay: 5% |
