6 points + 12 hours per week comprising 4 hours of lectures, tutorials and/or workshops and 8 independent study hours + First and second semester + Caulfield, Gippsland + Elective for BVA, BFA, BDes, BDes(VC) and other courses which give permission

Synopsis: Within the context of a visual art practice students will develop the conceptual foundation for their art practice and produce photographic imagery. Students will extend on their knowledge of contemporary and historical photographic imagery and develop understanding of the role of photomedia in contemporary visual art practice. Students will undertake a range of projects designed to stimulate an awareness of the formal and conceptual qualities of photography including 35mm camera technique and black and white processing and printing.

Assessment: Folio 80% + Journal 20%
