NUR4921Cardiac 1: advanced cardiovascular nursing(MED)
Ms K. Kremser 3 points + semester two + Peninsula + 6 hours per week + Combination of: lectures, tutorials (some may be held at clinical sites), laboratories, clinical experience, individual study, and electronic learning activities to give a total workload of 78 hours for the semester. Synopsis: This unit introduces the student to fundamental principles and practices of cardiac nursing. Students will develop an in-depth understanding of cardiac disease and will have the opportunity to plan and implement therapeutic nursing care for patients experiencing acute cardiovascular health breakdown. Students will attain proficiency related to advanced cardiovascular nursing assessment and management, interventional cardiology and education of the patient and family within cardiac care units. Assessment: Assignment 40% + Exam 60%+OSCA:Pass/Fail |
