MUS2020Practical musical skills I(ART)
Peter Handsworth 6 points + First semester + 2 hours per week + Clayton Synopsis: Aural Training: Students develop their aural skills through a one-hour weekly aural class in which the components of inner hearing and basic rhythmic and melodic dictation will be covered through class sight singing, tutorials and tests. Orff and Kodaly methods are also introduced. Additional support through completion of computer programs in aural skills in the music technology studio is offered. Pedagogy: The subject introduces individual characteristics and communication skills and applies them to the teaching environment. Instrument specific teaching skills are also introduced. Assessment: Aural: written class test (equivalent 2000 words): 50% + Pedagogy: Essay (1500 words) and practical demonstration (10 minutes): 50% |
