Synopsis: Theories of major historical musicologists dating mainly from the late nineteenth century to the present. The theory of ethnomusicology, covering works of major ethnomusicologists from the late nineteenth century to the present.

Assessment: 8 points - Essay (4000 words): 50% + Two assignments (2000 words each): 50%. 12 points - Essay (6000 words): 50% + Two assignments (3000 words each): 50%
