MUM4320Conducting I(ART)
Andre de Quadros 12 points + 2 hour per week + First semester + Clayton Synopsis: Guided by supervisors, the student chooses and submits a varied program of works to be studied and conducted, with an essay containing a fully developed justification of the program, and a discussion of the technical issues present in the repertoire. Students will receive an individual conducting lesson each week and attend masterclasses, the nature of the masterclasses will be determined by enrolments. Each student arranges and presents a lecture demonstration and/or performance and writes a program booklet. Programs should be of approximately forty-five minutes in length and will be presented before a team of examiners. Assessment: Essay on selected program works (2000 words): 20% + 45-minute lecture-demonstration performance and program booklet (2000 words): 80% |
