Ms P Robinson 6 points + 5 x 2 weekday contact hours and 2 x 7 weekend contact hours + Second semester + Macfarlane Burnet Centre Alfred Synopsis: The epidemiology of communicable diseases of public health importance in developing countries, including their major environmental and pathogenic causes. Covers the design and management of appropriate communicable disease prevention and control strategies, using both theoretical models and practical examples; preparedness for, and control of, epidemics; and the appropriate use of resources and the development of systems to provide adequate water, sanitation, vector control and treatment services.
