3 points + 6 hours per week, including 1 hour, 3 studio hours, and 2 hours of independent study + First semester + Caulfield + Prerequisite: admission to BDes(MMD) degree + Core for BDes(MMD) degree

Synopsis: This subject introduces students to the audiovisual language of multimedia and multimedia design principles. Methods for problem solving two-dimensional multimedia screen design and analysing electronic media are developed, giving a broad understanding of multimedia design. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of text and images in multimedia design, including the skills and techniques to use these elements in electronic documents.

Assessment: Major projects: 80% + Minor projects: 20%
