Case studies in services management

6 points + Second semester + One 3-hour class per week + Caulfield, Distance

Synopsis: This subject examines the application of concepts and theory to problems encountered in services management. The objective is for students to identify and think critically about strategy problems for a particular class of products - services. Case method will be used to enable students to gain insight into the assumptions, possibilities and limitations in applying theories, and critically reflect on the application of analytical techniques to strategy problems.

Assessment: On campus: Syndicate group case: 40% + Project or case report (4000 words): 60%. Distance: Individual presentation and commentary: 40% + Project or case report (4000 words): 60%
