Professor Amrik Sohal 6 points + 3-hour class per week, block mode + Caulfield Synopsis: Topics covered include the value of information and systems thinking; components of information technology and systems; acquiring information systems; outsourcing; using information technology to gain strategic and competitive advantage; business process re-engineering; managing knowledge workers, the role of culture in information systems, social and system issues and organisational transformation. Assessment: One individual assignment (2000 words): 30% + Group assignment I (in pairs) (2000 words per student): 20% + Group assignment II (group of 4 students) (approximately 2000 words per student): 50% |
