MFM1009Family therapy and counselling skills(MED)
Drs L Jackson and M Tisher 8 points + off campus distributed learning + Approximately 10 hours per week Synopsis: This elective unit provides students with an introduction and sets the context for the interface between medical and psychological practice and gives the perspective for therapies and their development and discusses the four stage models of therapy including; information gathering, including genograms and ecosystems, contracting, including referral skills, therapy, including evaluation criteria and closure, including follow up skills. Assessment: Written assessment work + Attendance at one weekend workshop |
