MED6004Geriatric and rehabilitation medicine(MED)
Dr B Workman Six-week integrated and shared rotation Synopsis: Core topics in Geriatric Medicine will include dementia, continence, falls, mobility, ethical issues, osteoporosis and pain management. In addition to lectures, clinical skills (bedside tutorials, case presentations, site visits, domiciliary assessment) will be taught in four-day clinical placements. Rehabilitation Medicine will be taught by means of lectures, and patient contact during hospital rotations. Topics will include amputation, chronic pain, spinal cord medicine, traumatic brain injury, stroke and return to work and the community. Assessment: Assessment: MCQ examination + Rehabilitation and Geriatric Medicine questions may be included in the OSCE examination |
