MED3052Clinical and communication skills III(MED)
Dr S S Wijesinha (General Practice) Synopsis: Students are introduced to a recommended diagnostic model for common clinical problems, via lectures and small group tutorials. Workshops cover practical procedures such as injections, suturing and mind-body medicine. Students also undertake a case study of a patient with a chronic illness. A series of lectures and patient-based tutorials focuses on psychiatric history taking and mental state examination. Assessment: Case study: 20% + Mental state examination short answer paper: 20% + Psychological med tutor's assessment: 20% + Community med tutor's assessment: 15% + Common problems short answer paper: 25% |
