MED3021Head and neck and neurosciences(MED)
Associate Professor J A Rawson (Physiology) & Associate Professor N Wreford (Anatomy) Synopsis: Commencing with a study of the structures comprising the head and neck, this subject then covers their embryological development, commonly occurring congenital abnormalities and the solving of relevant clinical problems. This study complements teaching in neurosciences, which presents a comprehensive approach to the study of the central nervous system. The program involves examination of the structure of the human brain in combination with its motor, sensory and integrative functions. The clinical aspects of central nervous system function are emphasised, and students will learn how basic knowledge in neurosciences can be applied to recognise and understand neurological disorders. Assessment: Head and Neck: Examination (3hrs): 50% + Practical: 50% + Neurosciences: Examination (3hrs): 100% |
