MCM5242Paediatrics II: sleep medicine(MED)
Associate Professor M Adamson 6 points + Second semester + Clayton campus Synopsis: This subject concentrates on new advances in the understanding and development of sleep medicine from infancy to adolescence. It covers the maturation of the different sleep states, how they affect physiological systems and what happens if the patterns became disrupted. This background is fundamental for the diagnosis and management of sleep patterns in paediatrics. The course is a practical, hands on learning program, with participants working with consultants in the sleep clinics, and with skilled polysomnographers in the paediatric sleep laboratory.
