MCM5234Post-operative management(MED)
Mr A Saunder 6 points + Second semester + Clayton campus Synopsis: This subject deals with the theory and practice of post-operative intensive care and routine ward management. Fluid and electrolytes, pain management and the recognition of general and specific post-operative complications will be taught. Assessment: One oral examination: (70%) + One written report about aspects of the operative management: (30%). The exam will be semi-structured and involve six 5-minute topic discussions. Continuous assessment by the student mentor and the supervising clinical consultant in terms of attitude, clinical skills, technical skills and communication skills will be assessed as either a Pass or Fail. |
