MCM5210Health promotion actions(MED)
Dr B Hsu-Hage & Professor L Piterman 6 points + Second semester + Clayton campus Synopsis: This subject will provide students with the theory and the actions involved in community health promotion. Both government and non-government organisations will be studied and their intersectoral collaborations highlighted. The importance of strategic planning in health promotion campaigns will be emphasized and also the importance of recognizing in advance health problems which may need some attention. Health promotion organisations will participate in the delivery of this subject experience a brief time on attachment to one of these community health organisations. Assessment: One group report: (60%) + One individual report: (15%) + The group development and presentation of a health promotion activity with evaluation methods: (25%). A logbook to be maintained by each student throughout the preparation of this activity will be submitted at the completion of the subject to be assessed on a Pass/Fail basis. |
