MCM5202Nutritional epidemiology(MED)
Professor M Wahlqvist 6 points + Second semester + Clayton Synopsis: This subject will provide students with a greater understanding about the natural history of nutritional related diseases and the interrelationship between nutrition and health. Students will develop and evaluate strategies to prevent or delay the development of such diseases and to promote health. Problem-based learning, didactic tutorials, and field based activities will provide the knowledge and skills required to investigate the relationship between nutrition and health/disease. Students will examine differences in study designs and develop a greater understanding of the relevant terminology, statistical concepts and research strategies used by nutritional epidemiologists. Assessment: One oral presentation: (25%) + Three written problem-solving exercises: (30%) + One written examination: (45%) |
