Synopsis: Mechanical response of typical aircraft metals, composites and adhesives. ASTM test requirements. Relationships between cost, ease of manufacture, mechanical performance, failure mechanisms and joinability.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 80% + Assignments and laboratory reports: 20%
