LAW7245Current issues in electronic commerce law(LAW)
Ms Elizabeth Lanyon 6 credit points + First semester + One 2-hour lecture per week + City Synopsis: Subject covers legal issues that arise in facilitation and regulation of electronic commercial transactions. Will maily focus on private commercial law issues such as contracts and payment issues. Reference will be made to public law issues related to regulation of intrastructure of electronic commerce such as tax policy and encryption, in so far as they affect risk allocation between parties. Will cover consideration of scope and effect of Electronic Transactions Act 1999 (C'th). Australian and international perspectives and material will be introduced. Assessment: Reseach paper (3750 words): 50% + Supervised examination (2 hours): 50% |
