Synopsis: Development of basic communicative competence in spoken Japanese and an introduction to written Japanese. The subject aims to develop the student0s competence to interact successfully with the Japanese in basic daily life situations. Students are recommended to enrol concurrently for JPS1090.

Assessment: Written test(s): 50% + Aural/oral tests: 25% + Quizzes and assignments: 25%
