Current issues in the Japanese media

6 points + 2 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: Monash post-level D Japanese or equivalent

Synopsis: This is an advanced level of spoken and written Japanese. It is designed to bring the student close to semi-native competence in the language, as well as enhancing their awareness of current issues in Japan and their ability to discuss current issues in Japanese.

Assessment: Final examiniation (2 hours): 45% + Regular class tests: 15% + Oral presentation and seminar participation: 20% + Written assignments: 20% + Assessment taks and criteria will take into account the language level and background of students.
