Synopsis: Comprehension of Japanese television programs related to social, political and cultural issues; active discussion with native Japanese speakers on current issues in Japanese; and presentation of a short paper on current issues in Japanese.

Assessment: Performance activities: 20% + Essays (2800 characters in Japanese): 40% + Assignments: 20% + Test: 20%
