12 points + 2 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: Monash post-level E Japanese or equivalent

Synopsis: Selected topics in Japanese grammar of particular importance to teaching Japanese as a foreign language, including reading, exercises (including error analysis) and discussion. Lectures and seminars are conducted in Japanese and English.

Assessment: Fortnightly assignments (1500 words): 20% + Seminar presentation (2000 words): 20% + Essay (3500 words): 30% + Test (2 hours): 30%
